Meeting was called to order at 7:11pm with _9__ members present. Standing room only. No chairs.
Minutes from the previous meeting were read and accepted.
Treasurer’s report was read and accepted.
Committee Reports: Sherry Smith was in TN. On vacation. Nothing new to report.
Riding Events: Bob handed out a revised upcoming events removing the dates already past
Public Relations: No new business.
Apparel: nothing to report
VASA BOD Meeting: Ray reported on the outcome of the meeting. The major changes that look like they
are going to pass are The State Registration fee increase from $25. to $35 in July. The new width rule on
maximum allowable width for ATV’s using Vasa trails. On line sales of registrations. The fourth change
will be neiboring States will not have to buy a VT registration, just a VASA Sticker. The new game
commissioner is interested in writing tickets for ATV violations. Considerably more so than the last
commissioner. There was a heated debate about Salary increases, but the BOD members were told that
the executive board approves wages and budget. They had put in for salary increases for as much as 20-
25%, plus a Company Truck.
Trail Report:
Most all trails are open with the exception of a couple trails at Woodlawn. Riverside will not open until
at least June 1 st . Ray will check the trails at Riverside and then call a workday based on what he finds for
trees down etc. The first workday at Woodlawn went well, but didn’t get completed due to the amount
of trees that were down.
Old Business:
Ray reported that the Vermont lottery has given away 3 ATV’s so far. The non-winning tickets can be
sent in to be pulled in a drawing for a RZR . This drawing will be at VASA’s Big Event.
It was brought up that Ira was missing some speed limit signs and directional signs. Jack Johnson
thought there were signs at the trail head and agreed to put them up. Ira is still closed until 12:00 noon
through May for Turkey Huntn.
Ray reported all landowner contracts were signed.
New Business:
A work day was scheduled for Sunday May 16 th Woodlawn. Bob would get it out in an email and Doreen
would get it on face book. This workday was for Water bar cleaning and to check out trail 10.
May 25 th is the Memorial Day parade. Anyone interested would meet at the school. Mike Moyer thought
around 11:00AM. He was not going to be able to make it.
Other discussion:
Ray brought up that our Webb site was outdated and needed to be brought up to date. Dee Dee was
going to contact David Noel to see if he was willing to update our site.
The directors needed to be updated on the state certificate. Bob was added with Ray to the certificate.
